Is there an age limit for attending Clearcreek Fitness Bootcamp?Anyone over the age of 16 is able to attend. Participants under the age of 18 will need parental consent. Youth ages 13-15 will be allowed to participate with parental consent AND if one parent or adult attends with them.
Is Clearcreek Fitness Bootcamp only for people who are already physically active?
Clearcreek Fitness Bootcamp is for people of all fitness levels. Modifications will be offered for any exercises in case anyone has any physical, medical or fitness limitations.
What types of workouts will we be doing?
Bootcamp classes vary in exercises and I do my best to keep routines interesting. In the last three months we have not repeated one full workout routine yet. There is a structure to the routine throughout the week so that participants who workout on their days off can know what to expect and plan accordingly. Mondays are full body workouts that entail weights, body weight exercises and some cardio and core. Wednesdays are called "Heavy Weight Wednesday" when we typically weight train and those who have heavier weights have the option of using them on those days (participants can still use their regular weights as well for all the exercises). Fridays are typically cardio and core days that involve body weight cardio and core exercises and we rarely use weights (but please still bring them just in case).
What will I need to bring with me to bootcamp?
You will need an exercise mat, a pair of medium weight dumbbells (around 8-20lbs, depending on your fitness level), two exercise bands, a jump rope and water. Participants must all fill out and turn in any and all waivers (including a doctor's medical release if necessary) before being allowed to participate in a class. You can download the waivers here.
What about if it rains?
Due to the nature of being an outdoor fitness bootcamp, exercising in various types of weather (cold, hot and rainy) is to be expected. There is a shelter on sight where we will be training, and depending on the weather conditions, we may or may not still have class outside under the covering. I will let everyone know via email 45-60 minutes before the class begins if it is canceled. If a class is canceled because of rain, participants are allowed to attend at a different time slot instead as a make up class. If there are more than three rain days, make up days and times will be offered separate from already scheduled classes. No refunds will be granted for rain days.
If I miss my class, can I attend another class at a different time slot?
Yes, as long as you let me know in advance and if there is enough room.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants allowed?
The minimum number of participants is 5 registered participants and maximum number of 30 registered participants for each time slot. If for whatever reason there are too little or too many people signed up for a particular time slot that month, you will have the option of attending another time slot or a full refund. Minimum and maximum numbers are subject to change.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds will only be granted for participants who registered in advance for the entire 4-week session and canceled their registration prior to the first class of that session. Refund requests need to be submitted to Amy directly at AmyWalshFitness@yahoo/com.
