Food Inspiration

I’ve been approached a lot lately for food ideas. I, like most people, have my go-to’s but wanted to reach out to get some of my friend’s and client’s go-to healthy snacks and meals and got some great feedback. Below are some websites and pinterest boards that are resources for ideas and recipes to help you become passionate about healthy food again. The goal is simple, whole foods based (although there are some that are not, but for the most part they are clean) and healthy. Many of us have allergies ranging from tree nuts, gluten and dairy, but for practical reasons, they are all clumped together because it would take me forever to go through and organize them in different categories. Thank you all again for contributing and I hope this helps give you some food inspiration!

Quick go to foods that I like to recommend are below. With a busy schedule, allergies and picky eaters, my goal is usually easy to grab and fresh (and usually without much flair) and to have a healthy balance of fresh carbohydrates, protein and good fats.

Breakfast:
Eggs
Greek Yogurt or Grass-fed yogurt (with fat and ideally from grass-fed cows)
Frozen fruit
Smoothie (including good protein source, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables)

Lunch:
Sprouted tortillas
Sweet Potato, butter and cinnamon
Salad with TONS of goodies on top (sliced almonds, raisins, pumpkin seeds, peppers, veggies, protein like chicken or fish)
Hummus
Fresh fruit or vegetables cut up and served family style
Smoothie (including good protein source, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables)

Dinner:
Grass-fed, free- ranged protein like chicken, beef or fish

Beans
Wild Rice or quinoa
Steamed vegetables with herbs and seasonings

Snacks:
Nut butters and fresh fruit
LARABARS
Ants on a log
